Restoration of the Haase pipe organ

Click here to view the official specification for the restoration.

The organ is removed in preparation for restoration.

These pipes are from the 2' Fifteenth stop on the Great.  They will be cleaned and have new tuning slides installed to replace the current corroded slides.  The tuning slides are the sleeve of metal at the top of each pipe.  This sleeve is raised or lowered by the organ tuner to adjust the tuning of the pipes.

These pipes are the 8' Gedeckt from the Great.  Made of wood, they have a stopper in the top which is used for tuning.

The console has been gutted of all the old equipment in preparation for the installation of the new electrical system.

The console shown from the back.

This is the mechanism inside the main windchests.  There are MANY valves and linkages.  This will all be removed for the installation of new chest magnets.

Here is the same windchest with all the old machinery removed.

Another view of the old machinery.  The light brown material on the device in the upper right is pneumatic leather.  It is paper thin and flexible.  It has begun to deteriorate and will be replaced with new electric action valves which do not depend on leather for their functioning.

The same chest after the old valve machinery has been removed.
